Former H2O PM’s boutique launches absolute return bond fund

New strategy is designed to complement existing global macro approach, Citywire Selector has learned.

LIOR Global Partners – the venture launched by former H2O AM fund manager Jeremy Touboul – has expanded its product range with a new absolute return-focused, fixed income strategy, Citywire Selector has learned.

LIOR GP – Proxima was quietly launched at the end of October 2022 and is designed to complement the firm’s flagship global macro fund, LIOR GP – Alpha.

The existing LIOR GP – Alpha fund was launched in March 2021. It has posted strong 12-month numbers, which mean it sits tenth out of 1,298 funds in the Mixed Assets – Conservative EUR sector. It returned 3.7% in euro terms while the average strategy lost 8.5%.

This new fund will follow the same sustainability driven guidelines as the existing fund but focus on fixed income and currency investments, as opposed to LIOR GP – Alpha which has the capacity to also invest in global equities.

It is understood Gad Moyal, who is a named co-manager on the Alpha fund, will serve as the lead manager on Proxima. This is while Touboul (pictured) and Pierre Jean Rouleau, who also works on the Alpha fund, will assist the former Rothschild Asset Management analyst on the strategy.
